We are so looking forward to reopening our doors at 10am this Thursday, July 9th! We have some new stuff for you to see inside and are excited to have visitors again!

That being said, we do have some safety protocol to follow this season to protect both our visitors and our employees - protection and precaution are most important to us so we can have an awesome season!

Inside the lobby of the museum, masks are to be worn by ALL visitors over the age of two at ALL times. It can be tough to distance in there - if you come to the museum and don’t have a mask, no problem! Ask an employee and we’ll be happy to provide one for you. Once inside the doors to the exhibit hall, masks are highly recommended but not required. Social distancing, however, is.

We will have signs posted on the door reminding visitors of these details, as well as other safety precautions (low-contact payment, regular disinfecting of surfaces, and plastic counter shields to name a few) so we can ensure everybody has a safe, fun museum experience. Employees will be enforcing the mask policy in the lobby, please help us keep the museum safe and open!

Any questions? Drop them below and someone will get to you as soon as possible! Stay tuned for a highly anticipated exhibit feature tomorrow to celebrate the reopening - you won’t want to miss this one!!

General information

Historic Auto Attractions was built in 2001 by owner Wayne Lensing of Lefthander Chassis which makes short track racing chassis. Wayne had been racing late models at Rockford Speedway, Lake Geneva WI and ASA specials, since 1975. During this time he won three season championships at Rockford, two at Lake Geneva and several ASA specials thru out the Midwest. With 100 plus feature wins to his credit other racers were starting to go to him to build, repair and set up their race car. Wayne began fabricating racecars chassis out of his Rockford garage more than 20 years ago, he has since moved to bigger and better facilities to now own and operate if not the largest, late model fabrication and parts warehouse. Also during that time Wayne became an avid collector of automobiles, both with historic value and celebrity popularity. For the better part of 10 years he built up a collection exceeding 70 special interest autos. These famous autos are now housed in a magnificent building built specifically for the cars, and run as a museum. Each display is artistically designed with graphic illustrations and historical information.

What an awesome afternoon touring this museum Tony Farrell was excellent at answering all of our questions. They are closing tomorrow to build another building to add 500 more exhibits. Can't wait to come back Memorial Day to check it out!!!!!!!!!
One of the best Auto collection museums I have seen. It is up there with the Mercedes Museum in Stuttgart; and it is not just cars, from Hollywood to world leaders and world events this place is a must stop for anyone traversing Illinois to Wisconsin. I will be heading back soon. Ask for the onsite historian Tony, the incite he has and the level of work that went into validated many of the artifacts is unprecedented.
If you're into the Batmobile, the Ghostbusters' car, the Back to the Future DeLorean, monster trucks, race cars, presidential cars and artifacts, Elvis, James Dean and more, you'll want to visit the Historic Auto Attractions soon because they will be closed for the season as of Sept 5th at 5pm. Watch this quick story from WREX 13 this morning to take a peek inside: https://bit.ly/3mD3hHv. There are ten rooms to get lost in while there and it's just a few minutes away from Beloit.
I gave this museum a very favorable review recently and I need to correct something. I had a typo on the rate paid; they have a reduced price for veterans and seniors, so I actually paid $13 vs. the $17 I believe I originally posted. Apologize for any confusion and go check them out! 🤠
This is a wonderful museum. It is full of historical memorbilia including classic autos and the history behind them. Ask Tony for a tour of the museum.
Lived in Rockford all my life and never been to this museum….very interesting! Tony was giving a tour to a group, but wanted to make sure to include us. I will definitely be back, and highly recommend this place!
Historic Auto Attractions is quite possibly "The Best Museum" of any kind that I have visited. My wife and I have visited 5 times in the two years since we discovered it. This is where our grandkids ask to go see, again and again. This is a "Do Not Miss" venue, even if the trip is 500 miles. Put it on your summer plans, you won't regret it. Give yourself at least a couple of hours. Be sure to ask Tony Farrell, the Chief Historian, a few questions when you see him on the floor. 😀😀😀😀😀
What a surprise! Who would expect to find a museum of this quality and diversity nestled in a small midwestern town. Much more than just any auto museum, it has pieces of history that do not exist anywhere else in the world. From the Abraham Lincoln items to the JFK history, it is exceptional. There is something of interest for every age group. The movie connections cover Batman, westerns, Ghostbusters, Mayberry, and much more. They have all the presidential limos, a section on auto racing, space vehicles and many others. The place is very clean, the people are friendly and the gift shop has many interesting items. Make sure you ask for Tony, the museum's historian. His tours and knowledge are part of the admission. Great place. Worth the trip.
If you have not been to the Historical Auto Museum of Roscoe, IL at all or even in the last year or so, you are surely missing out on a rare treasure. This museum is worthy of national recognition. The name “auto museum” does not begin to describe the breadth of historical artifacts and memorabilia contained within its walls. In the Lincoln room alone you could spend an hour and only scratch the surface. The number and variety of items, including exhibits about WWII, presidents, movie and TV stars, is simply amazing. If you are looking to amaze you and your guests, this place is IT. And ask for Tony to explain the exhibits to you. His depth and expanse of knowledge about the museum and its contents is truly impressive and he can answer any question you might have about them.

Did you know there's a place in Roscoe where you can find historic artifacts and memorabilia?
