Save the Date: February 19th is the Day of Remembrance of
Japanese American Internment of WWII.

The Riverside Public Library and the Riverside Metropolitan Museum would like to invite you to “The American Dream Delayed: A Japanese-American Family’s Quest for Civil Rights.” Riverside’s Harada family won a landmark court decision that affirmed their right to purchase a home in the names of their American born children. Less than 30 years later, the Harada family members were forced to leave their homes and were scattered to Japanese-American internment camps during World War II.

Please join us for a panel discussion about the Harada’s experience. The program will feature Mark Rawitsch, author of The House on Lemon Street: Japanese Pioneers and the American Dream. The program is at the Main Library on 3581 Mission Inn Avenue on February 19th, at 6:00 p.m.
