The countdown is on to the Grand Opening of the Leonardo da Vinci Museum of North America & STEAM Center, and tickets are now available online at:

To ensure every guest has the best possible museum experience during our opening weekend, admission to the museum will be offered through timed entry windows. Tickets will be sold in two-hour entry periods, helping us manage capacity and provide comfortable access to exhibits, interactive experiences, and special activities.

Your ticket allows you to enter the museum during your selected two-hour arrival window and enjoy everything our historic Grand Opening has to offer.

Leonardo’s underwater breathing apparatus is one of the clearest examples of how far ahead of his time he truly was.

Designed in the early 1500s, the device used a leather mask connected to reed tubes that floated to the surface with a cork buoy, allowing divers to breathe while submerged. Some sketches even suggest Leonardo was already thinking about pressure regulation centuries before modern scuba equipment existed.

But Leonardo became strangely secretive about the invention. In his notebooks, he refused to fully explain parts of the design because he feared how the technology could be used during underwater combat and naval warfare.

What makes the apparatus even more fascinating is how cryptic many of his notes were. Historians and engineers have spent centuries reconstructing how parts of the machine may have actually worked.

Five hundred years later, Leonardo’s inventions still feel futuristic. 🌊

The Codex Atlanticus is finding its home!

12 volumes. Over 1,000 pages of Leonardo da Vinci’s notes and drawings, carefully preserved and brought together through the work of Giunti Publishing.

Our library is being built to protect these works while allowing visitors to view select pages, with the full collection available for deeper study.
