U.S. Navy Seabee Museum The United States Navy Seabee Museum is now open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm. Established in 1947, the U.S. Welcome to the U.S.

Navy Seabee Museum is the second oldest official Navy museum in the nation. The Seabee Museum is a Federal museum and is operated by the Naval History and Heritage Command. A tiger stripe camouflage blouse. The tiger stripe camouflage originates from the French “lizard” camouflage from the late 40s. South Vietnamese forces adopted the tiger stripe for its excellent concealment properties in the dense jungles. While never official US military issue, the pattern proved popular with US military advisors and Special Forces such as MACV-SOG. Many variations of the pattern exist as the uniforms were made from local tailors.

🇺🇸 Museum Closure – Federal Holiday

The United States Navy Seabee Museum will be closed on Monday, October 12, 2026, in observance of the federal holiday.

The museum will resume normal operating hours on Tuesday, October 13.

An Imperial Japanese medal from the Manchurian Incident. The Manchurian Incident was a false-flag operation conducted by the Imperial Japanese Army to justify their invasion of Manchuria. On September 18, 1931, the IJA detonated a small amount of dynamite by a section of railroad owned by the South Manchuria Railway, a Japanese company. The damage was minor, but Japanese authorities blamed the sabotage on the Chinese garrison nearby. The invasion began in the early morning of the 19th. This service medal is from the early phase of the Chinese campaign, from 1931-1934.
