In case you’ve missed this…

Coronavirus is impacting our military around the world, locking down some bases and even quarantining troops. As anxiety grows during these tense times, it’s never been more important for our troops to know folks at home have their backs. We need at least 267 more patriotic Americans like YOU to sign our card supporting our troops before midnight to meet our goal, but we’re still waiting on your name. Will you sign the card now?

Stay safe and give your buddies a call to let them know they haven’t been forgotten....

Hey you champions - I hope you all are enjoying a little quality time with your social distancing buddies. My quarantine crew consists of Kelsey, Chloe, Dax and my in-laws. I’m also allowed to talk to Zach over the rock wall once a day - after which Kelsey showers me in lysol.

In all seriousness I hope you can slow down, enjoy your family, and get back to your roots. When this ends, which it will, I’ll be excited to see you all outside my social media feed!

Let them Not Be Forgotten.

The Department of Defense has identified two Marine Raiders who were killed Sunday in Iraq while clearing a tunnel complex full of Islamic State fighters.

Gunnery Sgt. Diego D. Pongo, 34, of Simi Valley, California, and Capt. Moises A. Navas, 34, of Germantown, Maryland, were the two Marines killed, according to a Department of Defense press release Tuesday morning.

Both Marines were assigned to the 2nd Marine Raider Battalion, Marine Forces Special Operations Command, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Let's do our part and send these fine Marines off with our thoughts and prayers today for their families, fellow service members, and other loved ones! #Honor #NeverForget https://bit.ly/338Ft2g

Is that Dan Harrington on the left without the rifle?
I just remembered, I would also like to thank Diane for driving the bus & Plainwell Community Schools for letting us use the bus for the trip. PCS is simply the BEST!
I would like to thank all who had a hand in today's trip to Muskegon. I was great meeting new people, seeing old friends & such a tremendous honor to be photographed with The Calendar Girls & the Heroes of my youth (WWII, Korean & Vietnam Veterans) & the Heroes of my older age. (everyone else) :) It was a lot of fun & many memories made. Your kindnesses will not be forgotten.
Friends of the Greater Plainwell Veterans Memorial is looking for local Veterans, men, women, all ages, to be part of a calendar fundraiser. All proceeds benefit Plainwell’s Veteran Memorial. If you’ve ever seen the Calendar Girls movie you know the English women portrayed in the movie are nude. Our group for this calendar will be dressed similar to the Donut Dollies. On Saturday, Sept 28th, 2019 we will start at the Sherwood Park in Plainwell and the Donut Dollies will be frying donuts and serving coffee at 7:00 a.m. We’ll board the bus at approx. 8:00 a.m. and travel to Muskegon. We’ll boards the USS silversides to have pictures taken for the calendar. You Veterans will be front and center while the Calendar Girls will be posed behind or to the side. You will be treated to a brown bag lunch and then have time to tour the museum. Buses will depart at 2:00 p.m. If this sounds interesting to you and something you’d like to be a part of, Please contact John Roggow at 269-217-7389. All expenses will be covered by our sponsors.
