Happy Father’s Day! Photo of William Hulme Grundy, father of Joseph R. and Margaret R. Grundy, and the reason the Grundy family made their way to Bristol.

Born December 12th 1836, the third child of Edmund Grundy and Rebecca Hulme Grundy. His father was from England and arrived in Philadelphia in 1821. His mother Rebecca was part of the Hulme family, founders of Hulmeville.

In April of 1853, he met his future wife Mary Lamb Ridgway, through his sister Susan Hulme Grundy (Harrison). William and Mary courted for several years, and married on September 27th 1860. The young couple lived in New Jersey and had their first child Joseph in Camden, New Jersey. Their second child Margaret, was born at Mary’s family farm in Pine Grove, NJ.
We know that William would be proud of the legacy that his children left and how it continues to this day.

The Grundy Museum cordially invites you to its Annual Tea! Come dressed in your favorite festive tea attire. While not required, prizes will be awarded for best hats and best dressed!
Immerse yourself in the splendor of the Grundy mansion with our Veranda seating, where you will enjoy the spectacular river views and a special menu.
Seating is also available under our magnificent tent on the South Lawn.

New this year, your experience will begin with our new speical iced tea tasting bar on the Museum Terrace, where you can enjoy Margaret's Garden!
Check-in begins at 12:15pm and seating will commence at 1pm.🫖
