Article Spotlight: In "(In)completeness in Middle English Literature: The Case of the Cook's Tale and Tale of the Gamelyn," author Timothy L. Stinson explains the ways that incompleteness is both the de facto status of much of Middle English literature as well a defining characteristic of it, looking specifically at unfinished works like Chaucer's Cook's Tale and the Tale of Gamelyn, which has often been inaccurately attributed to Chaucer. Linda H. Chance and Julie Nelson Davis provide insight into the history of Japanese calligraphy in "The Handwritten and the Printed: Issues of Format and Medium in Japanese Premodern Books" (MSS 1.1).
