Observation tower at Valley Forge State Park. At eighty eight feet tall, it was erected in the early 1900s atop Mount Joy, the high point of the park. Providing scenic views for decades, it was closed in the late 1970s due to deterioration and functional obsolescence: the surrounding trees had grown too high. It was thereafter removed to be re-erected in Tioga County near Wellsboro where it still stands today.

Upper Milford Township

Last night between the rain drops, Upper Milford Township, along with the UMYA, Congresswomen Susan Wilde, Rep. Justin Simmons, Senator Pat Browne honored Roselyn and Robert Parry for 53 years of community service to Upper Milford Township. Along with declarations of thanks from the above named offices, Upper Milford Township Supervisors have dedicated the pavilion at Lenape Park to the Parry's and their commitment of service. Through serving on the youth sports program board, coaching, running the concession stand, to the Recreation Committee, Historical Society, park care taking, and flower bend tending the Parry's have devoted a lot of time and energy into our community the last 53 years. Communities like ours are always made better by inspirational people like Robert and Roselyn. May they continue to be an inspiration to others through their service. Their community service goes well beyond the boarders of Upper Milford township, into Pennsburg with the Schwenkfelder Library and into Emmaus with the Garden Club. May we all learn the lesson of a better life through service to others. Thank you again for all you have done for our community.
