We have several of these tin coal miners lunch buckets on display. There are two stackable compartments and a lid. Bobby Durham, a miner who worked at the Billy Creek Mine, says he put water in the bottom compartment and lunch items in the top. This was an important item in the daily life of a coal miner.

During our last meeting for Planned Progress, Julie Truitt accepted a check for $100.00 as a donation to Novinger Renewal for letting us use the community building and kitchen during the Novinger Heritage Days held on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. We had a great turnout for the event. Julie took the lead and organized the event. It was an awesome weekend. Thank you for having us prepare the food served. The money is replacing what we had to spend to replace our roof. It was a big help!

WE HAVE BEEN BLESSED ONCE AGAIN! We received a donation tonight that is to pay for our heating and air conditioning. The person wished to remain anonymous and we will honor that request. We just want everyone to know how much we appreciate this. Again a BIG THANK YOU for the donation.
