Ye Ol' Watering Hole

Ye Ol' Watering Hole 4000+ Beer Can Collection, 3 Pool Tables, 2 Dart Boards, Awesome Jukebox: Twelve Beers on Tap: Fresh-squeezed Orange & Grapefruit Drinks!

Legend has it that in 1942, five young soldiers about to leave to serve in World War II came into the bar for farewell drinks. Each of them placed a full can of beer on the wall, to be drunk upon their return. Only three of the young men came home. They drank the beers they had left on the wall and placed the three empty cans next to the two full ones in memory of their comrades. In 1970, Al Drew, former owner of the Watering Hole, began collecting beer cans, which he displayed on the walls of the bar along with the original five as a memorial to his fellow servicemen of WWII. In 1989, the Watering Hole and beer can collection was sold to Gary Kelley, and then to Jim and Colleen McGorry in 1992.

Please stop in and give them a try! Be safe, and enjoy!

We've got some new brews on tap for this brutally cold weather: Abandoned Building Nightshade Stout from Easthampton, and Troegs Nugget Nectar from Hershey, PA. The dry-hopped Nugget is a once-a-year run, and is only available for a very limited time, so stop in and check it out before it's gone!

The annual Zombie Pub Crawl will visit the Watering Hole this Saturday night, October 24th. We are listed in the 8:30pm time slot, but based on the past few years and the ever-growing size of this event (possibly 1500 or more participants), we expect zombies to be fanning out to all pub locations, arriving a little after 7 pm, and the bar will be jam-packed until we close. So many people, in fact, that it will be necessary for us to shut down our pool tables and dart boards for the evening in order to accommodate the large crowds. We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable evening!

Due to popular demand, Downeast Unfiltered Cider will be back on tap within a week, as soon as the current barrel of Angry Orchard kicks. Our customers have spoken!

New on tap: Angry Orchard Hop 'n Mad Apple Cider. This cider is a little more tart and less sweet than other ciders; really tasty!

New stuff on tap: Jack-o Traveler Pumpkin Shandy, and Jack's Abby Copper Legend Oktoberfest! Really tasty seasonal brews, so drop in and check them out!

New on tap: Stone IPA!

The air conditioning is crankin', so on these hot summer days and nights, try to make us one of your stops for a fresh-squeezed orange or grapefruit drink. To everyone who participated in the Relay for Life TIPS night last Thursday; a very generous donation was made to the American Cancer Society on behalf of Tina and the Watering Hole, so our sincere thanks to all of our customers for your participation, and a special thanks to Tina & Jeff, who volunteered to host the evening and donate all of their tips to such a worthy cause. Thanks, Teenie & Jeff!

Thank you to all of our customers who have braved this 4 week barrage of snow and cold weather for coming out, having a few drinks, and supporting our establishment as well as other local businesses in town. We REALLY appreciate it!

As it turns out, Dan has volunteered to work tonight in spite of the weather, so we will be opening tonight at 7pm for all of you that are willing to brave the wind and the cold to go out and have a few drinks and play some free pool!

Due to the horrible wind and cold, we will not be open at all today, Sunday, February 15th. Our customer and employee safety comes first, and it is miserable out there!

Special this week: Seagram's Stone Cherry or Dark Honey Whiskey, $3.00 shots!

This coming Saturday night, January 31st, there will be a pub crawl from 8pm-9pm by a group of people involved with a local roller derby league that is looking for recruits for team play in the area. They will be handing out flyers with league information and contacts, and we will also post some flyers in the bar for any of you who might be interested. So try and stop by on Saturday night to talk to some league members from 8 'til 9 if you are interested in participating in roller derby!

Starting this Sunday January 11th, our new FREE POOL days will be SUNDAY, MONDAY, AND TUESDAY, 3pm 'til 1am. For quite some time now, free pool has been offered on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday; but we no longer have a 9-ball team that plays on Sunday nights, so more free playing time will be available to our regular customers on Sundays. Also, Dan B. will be taking Amelia's bartending shift on Sunday nights, so stop in and enjoy!

Hope everyone can come in Wednesday night to wish Amelia well as she embarks on a new era of her life in England. We're sorry to be losing her. Not only has she has been an integral part of our staff over the last few years, but our friend as well, and she will be missed by all of us. We love you, Skinny!
