Let’s welcome our New Vendor, Kim Horvath and her company Southern Heat!

Kim started making spicy jam, candied jalapeños, and Hungarian hot pepper mustard in 2015. She gave them away as gifts and friends and family loved them. In 2018, Kim took a class at the Cleveland Culinary Kitchen and began working toward getting her canning license. It was a long process, but Kim received her canning license in April 2020. Now she wants to share them with you! The strawberry jalapeño jam is the most mild, but still has a good bite to it. The mango habanero jam is probably the most spicy, but the sweet mango flavor definitely comes through. The candied jalapeños are delicious on grilled cheese, sandwiches, or alone with tortilla chips or crackers and cream cheese. The leftover spicy sweet brine can be used to “pickle” other vegetables, or as a part of a salad dressing. The Hungarian hot pepper mustard is often a favorite. It is delicious as a dip for pretzels, or as a spread for sandwiches and sausage. The spice level changes depending on the peppers, but Kim wants the heat to joy shine, but not overpower the sweet. She is so excited to get started on this new adventure and hopes you enjoy it as much as her friends and family!
Check out her website: southernheatjam.com and pre-order today!

Frostville Farmers' Market pickup: The Friends Church at 5665 Great Northern Blvd, has graciously allowed us to use their parking lot as a pickup location. We will continue with pickups there every 2nd and 4th Saturday until further notice. Pickup time is 10-10:30am. All orders for pick up must be prepaid. Next pick date is this Saturday, April 25.

Home delivery: Our plan is to ship orders via FedEx every Wednesday. However, with the current situation (and many other farms/companies doing more shipping!) our insulated box liners have been back-ordered. Therefore we are opting to personally deliver many of these orders until the liners are back in stock. When you order for home delivery, you will be notified of the date and method of delivery.

Farm Store: As always, our Farm Store is open Tuesdays and Fridays from 3-7pm, or by appointment if those hours don't work for you. You can preorder and pick up to limit personal contact, or you can stop in and shop (we regularly disinfect our store.)

Specials: 10% off ground turkey, and pork shoulder or picnic roast through the end of April.

I stopped at the market today. Very well marked flow of people traffic. The only issue that I have is that the restrooms were locked and no one use them. They had a porta-potty for all to use. I do not understand why they would close the restrooms, were there have flush toilets and running water to wash your hand, and have only one porta-potty that does not flush and nowhere to properly wash your hands. I kanda felt a bit concerned for the women that have to use the same potty as men, for obvious reasons. Also, the sanitizing area had a water cooler that everyone had to touch the same button valve to dispense the water. Definitely not my kind of thing at all.
