The Hill Farm Historical Society's Farm Fest SILENT AUCTION is this Sunday, Sept 12 from 3:00 to 6:30.
We have over 75 wonderful donated items and experiences for you.
NEW this year is the 'Buy It Now' option. Instead of missing out on all the fun and food at Farm Fest, we have 40 items that are available to immediately buy...you will not have to keep checking the bid sheets to see if you have been outbid. Bring the item and bid sheet to our check out desk near the granary doors, pay for it at the 'Buy It Now' price, and walk out knowing that it is yours. No standing in line at the end of Farm Fest to pay for your item. Cash, check (preferred) and credit cards are accepted for all items.
If you need to leave Farm Fest before the auction closes and you are the winning bidder, we will contact you and you can pick up the item on Tuesday evening, Sept 14th from 5:30 to 7:30 in the Machine Shop at the Hill Farm.

We have a very new offering this year. White Collar Catering and Blue Collar BBQ (http://www.bluecollarbarbeque.com) has donated an Evening of Great Food and Wonderful Wines at their new restaurant in Lexington, just a few miles from North Oaks. This is a 5 course dinner for 10 people, with carefully selected wines with each course. The bidding starts at $700, so get your guest list ready for this fun outing with friends or family.

There aren't many flowering plants at the farm but what is there is breath-taking. I encourage you to put on jeans, get close to the ground (I actually lay on the grass to get this perspective) and look at what comes back year after year. Too often unnoticed because these tiny blossoms are dwarfed in the vast open land. They are worth finding.

New to Farm Fest this year was a Birds of Prey experience presented by the University of Minnesota Raptor Center.

The raptors were on perches and easy to view up-close. The presenters spoke about the differences between each of the raptors and what makes them unique creatures.

The new Raptor Show was a great addition!

After months of email communication, board meetings, obtaining rare and fun items for the silent auction and securing vendors and volunteers, the Hill Farm Historical Society Board members arrived early on a cold drizzly morning to begin set-up. Yet they were happy to see each other and anticipated a grand day.

This dedicated crew works long hours to ensure the entire festival runs smoothly for nearly one thousand attendees.
