We will miss our old friend Frank. We have had great times together over the past 3+ decades. RIP

The WWII American Experience family has sad news to share.
Our founder, Frank Buck passed away December 13th after a brief illness. Frank was a passionate collector and loved World War II history, and it was his dream to create a museum where people could visit and learn about the sacrifices of the brave men and women of the Greatest Generation. In 2022 his dream became a reality when the doors to World War II American Experience opened for the first time. We will plan a celebration of Frank's life in January.

Our open house date has been set.

We have set the date for the Open House this year, 2023, to Aug 26 & 27. It is earlier than last year due to schedule conflicts as well as avoiding other local events. More information to follow as we plan the event.

The staff and volunteers at the Tank Farm have almost finished cleaning up after the open house. Most of our guests at the open house have no idea the amount of work that goes into putting on a show of this size. We begin the process of prepping the property and the vehicles 3 weeks before the event. Grass cutting and fencing are tackled 2 weeks out which take a few days to accomplish. The vehicles begin to be moved out and in many cases washed beginning Monday before the show. This year we decided to move out some of the easy to move vehicles a few days earlier. We were able to wrap up the vehicles this year by thursday afternoon which gave us enough time to prep the running vehicles for the show. Many of the volunteers donate any where from 3 days to two weeks of their time to help put this show on. I can't thank them enough for what they do, without them this show would not happen. I will share some of the prep photos here and if any of the volunteers would like to add some, feel free.
