House of Wax Bar

House of Wax Bar Combining mixology with the macabre, House of Wax is Brooklyn’s most curious, full-service bar.

Mixing craft cocktails with the macabre, House of Wax is Brooklyn’s most curious full-service bar. Based on the panoptica touring attractions of the late 1800s, House of Wax exhibits a rare selection of waxwork sculptures featuring life-size, realistic displays of anatomy, pathology, anthropology and even death masks of famous (and infamous) celebrities. A wholly unique spot to meet your friends, House of Wax features a full menu, cocktails, beers and so much to see.

Satisfy your curiosity...

This week we will be introducing our all star team of judges, many of which have graciously returned from last year! Please welcome Ryan and Regina Cohn -the talented team behind Oddities Flea Market ! Founded in 2016, their truly spectacular market-place focuses on skulls, skeletons, taxidermy, medical tools, scientific instruments, anatomical preparations, apothecary, and anything odd and unusual. Its received a tremendous response toting over 3500 customers over a given weekend.
Together they scour the world searching for the most unique, odd and unusual antiques to add to their vast museum and to offer for sale to the public. Yessssssss yes yes and more yes. We can’t wait to be the soundtrack for this killer weekend! Tickets are just about sold out so be sure to get yours for the Oddities Flea Market at the Globe Theatre in L.A. this oct. We had the pleasure of meeting the dynamic duo that is Ryan Matthew Cohn and Regina Marie Cohn in Brooklyn when we played the House of Wax Bar for the MothmeisterOfficial exhibit. The pandemic ruined this event last year and we cannot wait for this opportunity. It’s going to be a goddamn party in L.A. so come join the madness and this unique daap experimental set. •
Really wanted to see this place.Spend an hour traveling to get to it, Google still says its open and it is now a storage room. Very disappointed. Fix the Google page
In this episode of Show & Tell, Atlas Obscura co-founder Dylan Thuras speaks with Ryan Matthew Cohn, host of Science Channel's Oddities and curator of Brooklyn’s House of Wax Bar about why he collects medical marvels. Feast your eyes: you’ll spot an array of anatomical models, including multiple skulls and an oversized wax écorché (that’s a human model, minus the skin) that is twice life-size

Every month Beautiful Bizarre Magazine chooses one of our favourite creatives to TAKE OVER social media for the day. This month, we have chosen Ryan Matthew Cohn and of Oddities Flea Market to share with us the artists who have inspired them.
.
Hi there. We are Ryan Matthew Cohn and Regina Marie Cohn, a husband and wife duo that bring highly curated events and activations to the oddities community around the globe. My lifelong passion and obsession with collecting and creating works of art focusing on natural history and anatomy have led me around the world and gained me (and Regina) entry into many of the hidden and obscure establishments that focus on these lost art-forms. My knowledge and expertise on the subject of oddities granted me the opportunity to be one of the 3 co-stars of Science Channel / Discovery Channel's "Oddities" which ran for 75 episodes. Regina and I met 6 years ago when she was seeking to obtain a Tibetan "Kapala" skull from my personal collection. Our bond was instant and we were married in less than a year. Soon after we married, together we purchased "Castan's Panopticon", a 19th century medically based wax museum that at the time was located in Munich, Germany. After bringing this vast museum from Europe to the US, The collection was then purchased by Alamo Drafthouse NYC and House of Wax Bar was born. H.O.W. is a Victorian-esque fully functional bar (we have cocktails with names like "anatomical Venus"& "The Butcher of Hanover") showcasing this rare one of a kind collection featuring medical abnormalities, infectious diseases, anatomical Venus's, artificial deformation, anthropological busts, and death masks all made of wax (all the good stuff). After a long standing career in high end fashion world, Regina decided to join forces with me and utilize all of the knowledge she had obtained managing successful business's over the years. Together we formed "Curated by RMC", a company which focuses on curated events and activations such as Oddities Flea Market, NYFW, book launches, gallery exhibits, private tours, workshops, and special events at House of Wax Bar. We are excited to take over Beautiful Bizarre for the day! Here are some of the influential artists who drive the work that we create.

Last year I finally got to visit my pal Ryan Matthew Cohn and his wife Regina Marie Cohn at their home in Brooklyn. Ryan has been following my work since the very beginning and, needless to say, I had always dreamed of seeing his breath-taking private collection, one of the finest and biggest in the world. 💀
I was also invited for a night out at his House of Wax Bar, where theremin players & absynthe human dispensers were surrounded by 19th anatomical waxworks. 🤯😱
