Columbia Game Design & Development We're making game design and development accessible to the Columbia community. Join us for game creation and discussion. And fun. That too.

Think of us as a combination of...

IGN (a forum for discussion on game design and dev and technology),

Gamasutra (a means to connect with the gaming industry, speakers with experience, and jobs),

A Studio (helping you build a portfolio of games you've designed with the team, putting education to practical use, and giving you industry experience while learning about design and development prin

ciples),

A Competitive Team (representing CU in the world of game dev since it is the fastest growing medium in the entertainment industry),

A Place To Learn (about video games and all things design and dev). We not only seek to create games using various platforms, but keep a running blog on our website (currently under development) with posts from club members -- reviews, lists, blogs, and just interesting stuff about gaming in general. We strive to introduce CU students to New York’s gaming industry through trips into the city (conferences, arcades, museum trips, conventions, etc.). We encourage actively and freely expressing creativity through game design while making game design accessible to CU's student body. And, of course, we have our fair share of bonding and gaming events.

Thank you all so much for coming to the our interest meeting, super excited to see everyone [+1 thanks for indulging in allowing these adorable pics]!

This semester, we'll be doing something new -- developing one BIG minigame collection!! Each group will be working on a different minigame. There will also be a tutorial group in the first few weeks for those unfamiliar with working in Unity. For those interested in getting involved, please fill out this interest form: https://forms.gle/yNu29C3NavYU48h18. Reminder, you don't need any experience or even be a programmer to get involved!

For those NOT interested in project groups, that's totally okay! We're working on setting up workshops, game jams, fun gaming/social events this semester too. So stay tuned (drop by in our inbox if you have any suggestions)! If you're an independent game developer, feel free to reach out to us too. We'd love to support in any way that we can!

Hello, we're still alive! Thanks to those that dropped by at the club fair. Super happy to meet everyone. We will be having our first interest meeting TODAY at 5 PM over Zoom, here's the link: https://columbiauniversity.zoom.us/j/99706580567?pwd=eTdUYmlRUSsvODMrc3RNa1hkQ3lPdz09.

We'll be introducing our project and project leads for this semester, as well as chatting and playing some games. Reminder, no experience necessary! Project groups consist of developers, storytellers, artists, musicians, ultimately just folk who enjoy and want to build games.
