As Women's History Month comes to a close, The UHHM will continue to share women's stories and to create safe, and equal spaces for the women of Hip Hop culture. Salute to the divine feminine energies that continue to drive the culture forward.
Queen Latifah’s song, “U.N.I.T.Y.,” focused on the respect of women in Hip Hop culture. Her song’s message resulted in her winning the 1995 Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance.

Originally J.J. Fad began as a five member group of women in 1985. Once signed to Ruthless Records by Eazy-E, with a change in personnel, the group became a trio. J.J. Fad re-recorded and re-released their debut, hit album and single "Supersonic." Their certified gold single secured their appearance on the 1st episode of the U.S.A. premiere of "Yo MTV Raps." Grammy nominees J.J. Fad's initial commercial success has inspired generations of other women led rap groups.
