Then (1982) and Now.... thanks to Hugo Wey, a former Rudolph and later Modulightor employee, we now have the original location of Paul Rudolph's model shop and home to the first Modulightor showroom: 470 Broome Street at the corner of Broome and Greene in New York City's SoHo District.
Founded by Rudolph in 1976, the company began assembling light fixtures in a spare room in Rudolph’s architectural office at 54 West 57th Street. When Modulightor and Rudolph’s work increased, the company and his model shop moved to one of the cellars of this building in 1981. In 1990, Modulightor moved into 246 East 58th Street giving the current location its name as ‘the Modulightor Building.’

FOR SALE - The Rolling Armchair designed by Paul Rudolph for his 23 Beekman Place apartment. Limited Edition (limited to 450) reproductions are now available. Each chair comes with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity from the Paul Rudolph estate and the Paul Rudolph Heritage Foundation. Learn more at http://bit.ly/Rudolphshop
⠀
The chair design is a modern reinterpretation of the Wassily chair design of 1927. Rudolph was intensely interested in the flexibility and efficiency offered by modular systems. Whether it be for the design of a largescale building, a set of furniture, or a light fixture, he thought architects should “speak the language of modularity.” This chair uses a system of stainless steel tubes & joints, carefully fabricated and assembled, to create a practical piece of furniture and a fine object of design. This same system can be also be used to make other kinds of furniture, and even light fixtures.⠀

Hello, thank you for republishing Paul Rudolph's work in Domus. The Paul Rudolph Heritage Foundation represents the Paul Rudolph Estate and is dedicated to promoting the preservation of his architectural legacy and it is great to see some of his more obscure works such as the Elman Residence get more press. The last project, 'Home for Friends' is not designed by Rudolph however. It is designed by Olivier Mourgue. Thank you again for sharing Rudolph's work with the public!
Domus articles about the American architect, all from the 1970s, show a deep curiosity but also a certain suspicion for his top-down approach to the construction of the city.

The PRHF is teaming up with @WhatsonatSSA this week to showcase work by City College's second year architecture students who spent the semester #LearningFromPaulRudolph
Students began the semester by doing a deep-dive into Rudolph's writing while creating accurate models of the architect's iconic residents in NYC. Later, through analytical drawings and design exercises inspired by Rudolph's teaching methods and focused on his visionary tectonics, students unpacked Rudolph's work in order to develop spatial techniques that expanded their design vocabularies. Led by Elisabetta Terragni (@E_Terragni) with Eduardo Alfonso (@Edgie_agrees), Lior Gallili (@ligalstuff), Zulaikha Ayub (@Your_mother_00) & Paul Ruppert the studio focused on reassesssing the pedagogical legacy of Rudolph's work.

Commencement 1986 Southeastern Massachusetts University. My heart goes out to all the graduates that are experiencing "virtual" commencements. There's no substitute for the physical environment.
I want to thank you guys for all your effort. Every day I see something on your page that inspires me.
I just learned that Paul Rudolph designed a house here in Pensacola, the Nathan S. Rubin Residence. Is there a way that someone here might have contact with the current residence to go about a possible tour of said house or would this be something I would need to do on my own ? Thank you for any information ....
