Museum Team is a free, year-round afterschool program that serves over 250 youth, grades K–12. It is a multi-tiered program that provides a ladder of learning opportunities at the Museum and in the community. Students begin in Kids Crew with educational programs and workshops in grades K—5, move on to service learning opportunities in grades 6—8, and then have unique teen opportunities in grades 9—12 as a Teen exPLAYner or by participating in Inniss Academy projects.

We have extended our information sessions for our teen programs:
Brooklyn Children's Museum offers a free, year-round after school program for students in 9th-12th grades designed to support each student's academic, cultural, and professional development. Led by museum educators, students participate in hands-on art, tech, and science projects; attend college prep workshops; can gain valuable paid work experience at the world's first children's museum. Participation can lead to a PAID position!

Applications are available at www.brooklynkids.org/afterschool and must be accompanied by a copy of the participant's birth certificate and up-to-date health examination form.
We've extended our information sessions to Tuesday, Thursday and Friday of this week at 4:30pm, and Saturday and Sunday at 12pm!

We're recruiting for the second half of the school year, which begins on February 1st. If you are, or you know, a high school student in grades 9-12, who has an interest in art, popular culture, contemporary issues, history, and culture, then come to one of our information sessions at 10:30am on either January 16th or 23rd Brooklyn Children's Museum. There are PAID work-based learning opportunities, as well as cultural and educational trips.

What a full week we've had! A visit to the Schomburg for the Unveiling Visions and Black Suburbia exhibits, a studio visit with artist Kenya Robinson, and we submitted 9 projects to the ScenariosUSA contest! We're winding down for the holidays, but there is much more to come before the year ends!
A great morning with our young men's me tiring group. A couple of our alumni who are back in BK for holiday break were able to join this session.
Even with the day off from school, our Teen Leaders are at the Museum getting trained to lead weekend floor programs.
It's our final orientation day for our Fall programs and participants are eagerly working on group challenges. We can't wait to begin programming on Monday !

Farewell to our graduating seniors! We had a blast at their dinner this week and we wish them well as they head out to colleges far and near! They will be missed, but will always have a home with us!

We are really excited to be able to build and maintain collaborations with other organizations.
