Our presentation of new sculptures by Rose Nestler continues today at NADA Miami, booth #5.06.
Pictured here is ‘Drain Down to Rest (Maria),’ 2022. Leather madonna lilies lie across a delicate table, their stems snaking down drain holes, evoking the ghost of Maria Goretti who appeared to her attacker in a dream, bringing him white lilies that ignited in flames.

Mrs. is thrilled to announce the representation of Brooklyn-based artist Rose Nestler.
Spanning sculpture, video and installation, Nestler’s work mines societal expectations of and relationships to well-known objects, instilling an omnipotent feminine power into the iconic items she recreates. Nestler’s fabric sculptures employ forms and materials that serve to highlight and simultaneously subvert the ways that gendered and trite stereotypes play out on, or impact the experience of their wearers. Through reinterpreting loaded garments and objects into oversized soft sculptures and wall hangings that straddle humor, shame and pride, Nestler reclaims patriarchal institutions as feminine spaces.
Rose Nestler (b. 1983, Spokane, WA) lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. She holds an MFA from Brooklyn College and BA in Art History from Mount Holyoke College. Nestler has exhibited in the United States and internationally, including exhibitions at Public Gallery, London, UK; König Galerie, Berlin, Germany; Projet Pangée, Montreal, QC, Canada; BRIC, Brooklyn, NY; Hesse Flatow and Perrotin, New York, NY. She was an artist in residence at the Joan Mitchell Center in New Orleans in 2022. Nestler has also conducted residencies at The Fores Project, London, UK, and The Lighthouse Works, Fishers Island, NY, among others. Her work has been featured in the Brooklyn Rail, BOMB magazine, Hyperallergic, The Art Newspaper, Artnet, New York Magazine and Art21. The artist’s first solo exhibition with the gallery was held in Spring of 2022.
Mrs. will present a solo exhibition of new works by Nestler for the 20th edition of NADA Miami 2022, on view November 30 - December 3 at Ice Palace Studios.

Please join us this Saturday, November 19, 4 - 7pm, for the opening reception of 𝐸𝑣𝑒𝑛 𝑎 𝐶𝑎𝑡 𝐶𝑎𝑛 𝐿𝑜𝑜𝑘 𝑎𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑄𝑢𝑒𝑒𝑛.
Our beloved furry companions are often described as graceful, gentle, the embodiment of comfort, but also have been considered the epitomization of our vices–lustful, lazy, indolent, aloof, and stubborn. The artists in 𝐸𝑣𝑒𝑛 𝑎 𝐶𝑎𝑡 𝐶𝑎𝑛 𝐿𝑜𝑜𝑘 𝑎𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑄𝑢𝑒𝑒𝑛 articulate these inherent contradictions.
The exhibition includes works by Bill Adams, Nicolas Bermeo, Lydia Blakeley, Ohan Breiding, Rebekah Chozick, Kathe Burkhart, Oliver Clegg, Sam Cockrell, Renate Druks, Kate Finneran, Gina Fischli, Michel “Mitch” Guhl, Catherine Haggarty, Philip Hinge, Steve Keister, Antone Könst, Katharine Kuharic, Ryosuke Kumakura, Zuzu Lafreniere, Ali Liebegott, Abby Lloyd, Nihura Montiel, Mark Mulroney, Jodie Niss, Luke O’Halloran, Stephen Pace, Elbert Perez, Stephen Polatch, Cait Porter, Alexandra Rubinstein, Yves Scherer, Grace Stott, Alice Tippit, Serpil Mavi Üstün, Sophie Vallance Cantor, Roger White, Andy Warhol and Robin F. Installation views of Carolyn Salas’ solo exhibition, ‘Five Ways to Reverse a Curse,’ at The Hole in Tribeca, on view through December 31st, 2022.
“In this exhibition, Salas works entirely in laser-cut, powder-coated aluminum at a thickness optimized for permanent outdoor display. Her sculptures are carefully balanced compositions inspired by the visual lexicon of healing therapies and dream analysis. There is a deliberate vulnerability and resilience in these assemblages of signs: Salas shows us that her stacked and curving geometries, like the caryatids of antiquity, can have great physical and symbolic staying power.” — an excerpt from the press release. For more information, please see The Hole’s website.

This is the final week to see Robert Zehnder’s solo exhibition, ‘Ageless Machine.’
‘In contrast to the profound complexity of nature, the artist uses a reductive visual vocabulary to imagine estranged landscapes, divorced from the reality and detail of nature itself. His canvases explore the psychology of naturalism and are animated by notions of the sublime…’ - An excerpt from our press release, written by Misael Oquendo.
