Happening now on the Forest Hills-Kew Gardens border: Crews are preparing to move The Triumph of Civic Virtue, a statue that stands next to Queens Borough Hall. The statue, which shows a man stepping on two sirens, has been derided by critics as sexist. It will be restored and moved to Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn.

Even before the West Side Tennis Club erected its stadium, Davis Cup matches were played on courts by the clubhouse. The Forest Hills book will include rare photos from the early years of the club that long hosted the U.S. Open!
