In addition to dealing in the secondary, 20th century market, L&M is committed to working with living artists and has presented several exhibitions of contemporary art since the gallery was founded, among them a Jeff Koons retrospective in 2004, new work by David Hammons in January 2007, and by Liza Lou in 2008. Continuing this commitment, the gallery inaugurated their Los Angeles branch on September 25, 2010, with an exhibition of new work by Paul McCarthy. • Willem de Kooning: Paintings (1975 – 1978)– a re-examination of this controversial period in the artist's career.
