πŸ™οΈ In the early 2000s, Chelsea in New York became the hub of the art world, with the biggest galleries opening up one after the other. It was during this time that I had the opportunity to rent billboards in the center of Chelsea, right under the noses of the biggest galleries.

πŸ‘¨β€πŸŽ¨ Using billboards as my canvas, I was able to express my thoughts on art and challenge the established beliefs of the art world. While I wasn't the first artist to use billboards as a medium, I was the only one to make a self-criticism of the art world at the very heart of it.

πŸ€” Some may wonder why I would risk alienating galleries and dealers for the sake of expressing my opinions on art. The truth is that I don't want to work with people who lack Humour and self-mockery, as I believe that these qualities are essential in the art world.

πŸ™„ Too often, the art world is self-centered, pretentious, and lacking in self-awareness. And the less talented they are, the more they convince themselves of their importance. This is why I decided to use billboards to challenge these attitudes and reset the narrative.

πŸ—£οΈ My billboards were aimed at artists, curators, collectors, art dealers, and museum directors around the world. I wanted to remind everyone that stupidity is international and universal and that we should all strive for more self-awareness and humility in the world of art.

πŸŒ€ Journey into My Artistic Labyrinth πŸŒ€

Through my series of paintings, titled "Labyrinth," my intention was to immerse viewers in a captivating experience where they could lose themselves while searching for a potential exit along imaginary paths.

To me, the labyrinth serves as a powerful representation of life itself. It's said that when lost in a labyrinth, every person you encounter will offer different advice on the right path to take. This notion holds true not only in life but also in the world of art. Discovering your own path is a challenge, but it certainly won't be found by merely listening to others or relying on art dealers. 🎨

πŸ—£οΈ Immerse yourself in the enigmatic beauty of "Labyrinth" and let your mind wander through its intricate paths. Leave a comment and share the emotions it evokes within you.

Thank You,

πŸ“Έ Photography was my first love in the 70s, and my admiration for great photographers like Guy Bourdin and Jeanloup Sieff continues to this day.

🌈 Thanks to Frank Zappa's Hot Rats album cover, I discovered the magic of color infrared film rendering, which has always fascinated me.

πŸ‘€ What interests me in photography is its opposite - using unusual colors, angles, and blur to distort the subject and create an image that's as far removed from reality as possible.

πŸ’ I transform reality to communicate the feeling I had when I took the photo, rather than depicting it as it truly is.

🚫 Depicting reality as it is doesn't interest me - after all, how can I know what it really looks like? Ultimately, it only exists in my own impressions.

πŸ‘‰ That's why I didn't see the arrival of digital photography as a disaster, but rather as an opportunity to distance myself even further from reality - this time, without limits.
