What happens when ancient craft meets emerging technology?
For French-born, New York-based artist Nicolas Touron, 3D clay printing is a tool for building complex ceramic worlds. Touron’s captivating sculptures explore storytelling, intuition, and the possibilities of a practice that exists between disciplines.
Working between digital design and hands-on making, Touron combines modular forms, traditional ceramic processes, and unexpected material behavior to create sculptures shaped as much by chance as by intention. “I consider the element of unpredictability essential,” he writes.
