Beginning today, visitors to Tate can participate in creating a large-scale collaborative work with Oscar Murillo as part of his project The flooded garden.

Inspired by Claude Monet’s paintings of his flower garden in Giverny, The flooded garden transforms the Tate’s Turbine Hall into an enormous painting garden.

We’re so pleased to share that the Fourth Plinth Commissioning Group, chaired by Ekow Eshun, has selected Andra Ursuța’s sculpture Untitled (2024) to be installed on the Fourth Plinth in London’s Trafalgar Square from 2028 through 2030.

The Fourth Plinth is one of the most important art commissions worldwide, putting new work by internationally renowned artists into the heart of London. This year marks 25 years since the first work was unveiled, in 1999, and 14 works have been displayed on this iconic site to date.

“I am touched and humbled by the selection committee’s choice. My work deals with history; history makes sense of us as we try to make sense of it. Trafalgar Square is a place where multiple histories face one another in an open-ended standoff. It will never be finished. This is such a crucial, and beautiful, accident.” —

+ Through Sunday, March 17, visitors to National Gallery can see a small-scale model of this work in the Fourth Plinth Shortlist Exhibition.

Exceptional Works at Art Basel Miami Beach by Marlene Dumas: https://zwrnr.art/ABMB2023

The Schoolboys (1986–1987), presented here, is part of a small group of portraits made in the late 1980s by Dumas primarily depicting schoolchildren. These works were included in the artist’s earliest solo exhibitions and demonstrate her singular approach to the human form, exploring the complexities of identity and the shifting boundaries between her figures’ public and private selves.

Neo Rauch: Field Signs, now on view at , brings together a new repertoire of invented characters, settings, and motifs, elaborating on the artist’s ever-expanding lexicon of enigmatic subjects. The paintings in this exhibition personify Rauch’s ongoing interest in the tension between the public and the private realm while suggesting his compositions as allegories of the creative process.

On the occasion of the show, Neo Rauch invited curator Ralph Keunig into his Leipzig studio for a conversation on his work and process. Watch the full conversation on YouTube:

📣 Marcel Dzama has been commissioned to create a performance for the 2023 Performa NYC biennial this November: https://zwrnr.art/44Nt8zK

Dzama is transforming his immediately recognizable visual language into a multilayered performance with live musicians, animated film, and dance inspired by “Trip to the Moon,” a poem by Spanish poet and playwright Federico García Lorca, written during a trip to New York in 1929. A co-production with the Federico García Lorca Foundation in Madrid, it will be presented at Abrons Arts Center.

Set to run from November 1–19 in New York, the show marks Performa’s 10th biennial since the organization’s founding in 2004.
