We did it Joe!!

Baby’s first experience is in the bag… as I get ready to head to the airport to catch the sunrise flight home, I’m so so soooooo dipped in gratitude for the opportunity to be here. I leave this magical place overflowing with so much inspiration l, thoroughly motivated for the next chapter being written…

I came here with only hope and I leave with affirmation and acceptance, feeling accomplished, proud and embodied.

Day 2 in the books!

More wonderful conversations and reactions to my art is thee most affirming experience of my life yet. I was starting to have some walking around the giant fair. But the longer I sat still, engaged with my curiosity, and listened to the people; all that melted away. And I remembered that I belong wherever God puts me. Everything happens as it should. And I am already successful.

Apologies to everyone I missed at the booth yesterday, I had to dip out to finish a table at last night because they got a busy weekend ahead! Thank you again Alex for giving me space to leave my mark.

"I feel that what i've been assigned to is translation. is translating violence into a kind of beauty. one of my large issues that i have with the world is that sometimes we need beauty to understand grief and to understand trauma... I think about the European migrant crisis, it existed for so many years but it took the photo of a 2-year-old Kurdish boy washed up on the shore in a perfectly sized red t-shirt to be placed on the cover of Time magazine for us to enter a state of awareness of panic. Even that photo had to carry a kind of beauty for the world to engage with it. and in a lot of ways i think that through poetry, through music and through language we are trying to beautify a kind of violence so that people can lock into it and understand it . Its a lens that seems necessary for people as a doorway to enter into a thing that they wouldn't enter into otherwise" .
