History- It all began at a fire prevention meeting in Baton Rouge, La on April 23, 1957. In June of 1957, the first official meeting was called to order. Tipton

The Louisiana Fire Prevention Association is a statewide organization that comes together for the purpose of keeping all those responsible for Fire and Life Safety or any individual with an interest in Fire and Life Safety informed and educated. A small group of firemen got together and discussed the possibility of forming an organization consisting of Fire Prevention Bureaus throughout the state,

for the purpose of education and reducing the number of arson in Louisiana. At this meeting, two temporary fire officers were appointed and tasked with notifying all of the fire departments across the state and coordination a joint meeting with the Louisiana State Fireman's Association to discuss their intent and purpose of such an organization. As a result of the correspondence mailed to the departments across the state, the founding fathers received a great response of interest from the vast majority of departments statewide. The group stated the purpose of the organization was being that of advancing Fire Prevention in the state by assisting each other and was opened to anyone charged with the responsibility of fire prevention, fire protection or fire investigation. At this meeting they voted to select a name for the organization, "The Louisiana Arson and Fire Prevention Association." President- Terry Hayes

The final day of the Louisiana Arson and Fire Prevention Association Conference wrapped up with an outstanding class led by Adam Dufrene on the workings, inspection, and testing of fire suppression hood systems and fire extinguishers. Participants then had the opportunity to see these systems in action during a hands-on demonstration at State Fire, LLC, providing valuable real-world insight into the equipment and procedures that help keep our communities safe.

As we close out another successful conference, we want to extend our sincere gratitude to all of our instructors, sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and attendees who dedicated their time and expertise throughout the week. Countless hours of planning and hard work go into making this conference a success, and it would not be possible without the commitment and support of so many individuals.

Thank you for making this an incredible week of learning, networking, and fellowship. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year as we continue our mission of fire prevention, education, and service across Louisiana!

The 47th Annual Louisiana Arson and Fire Prevention Association Banquet was a memorable evening filled with recognition, and celebration at the Westwego Volunteer Hall.

Guests enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by Westwego Volunteer Fire Department, followed by an inspiring message from guest speaker Bryan J. Adams that reminded us all of the importance of service, leadership, and dedication to our communities.

During the evening, we proudly inducted our newly elected officers and recognized those who continue to move our organization forward. President Lonny Taylor dedicated this year's conference to the family of Philip Crabtree in honor of his lasting impact and contributions to the fire service. The banquet itself was dedicated to Past President/Fire Chief Keith Bouvier in recognition of his unwavering commitment and years of service to the Association.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to both of these remarkable individuals and their families for the sacrifices they have made and the legacy they have helped build. It was truly an incredible night celebrating another successful year of the Louisiana Arson and Fire Prevention Association and the people who make this organization so special. Thank you to everyone who helped make this an unforgettable night!

Day 3 of the Louisiana Arson and Fire Prevention Association Conference was packed with valuable training and education!

The day began with an informative session on Generator Safety, along with Commercial and Residential Electrical Codes, led by Craig Jacomine and David Wilbert of Craig’s Electrical & Generator Services. Participants gained valuable insight into safety practices and code requirements that help protect our communities.

We then enjoyed a delicious lunch provided by ServePro before returning to the classroom for an afternoon of fire protection training. Chief Bryan Rayburn led sessions covering Tagging, Licensing, Certifications, and Complaints of Fire Systems, followed by an Introduction to First Responder Inspection Class.

A big thank you to all of our instructors and sponsors for helping make another successful day of learning possible.

🚒 Late Post, But Too Good Not to Share! 🚒

Day 2 of the Louisiana Arson and Fire Prevention Conference was packed with valuable training, great food, and even better networking opportunities!

The day kicked off with the Opening Ceremony at the Great Hall in Terrytown before attendees headed into an informative session on Fatal Fires and What to Teach Your Suppression Crews, led by Lee Brown of JPFD.

We then enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared by the Westwego Volunteer Fire Department before returning to the classroom for an insightful presentation on Legal Considerations, taught by Todd Rivere of the JPSO Task Force.

From start to finish, it was a fantastic day filled with learning, collaboration, and strengthening the partnerships that help keep our communities safe. Thank you to all of our instructors, sponsors, and attendees who made Day 2 a success!

🔥 That’s a wrap on the Louisiana Arson & Fire Prevention Association Ladies Program! 🔥

We finished out an incredible week by creating the cutest fire helmet door hangers during a fun and creative class led by Mrs. Dawn 🎨🚒

Over the past few days, we’ve shared laughter, made memories, and built connections with an amazing group of women who truly understand the unique joys and challenges of life in the fire service. Your unwavering support and dedication to the men and women who put their lives on the line every day does not go unnoticed.

We hope you enjoyed your time in our wonderful city as much as we enjoyed having you here. Thank you for your enthusiasm, friendship, and participation throughout the week. ❤️

As one chapter closes, another begins—we’re already looking forward to planning next year’s Ladies Program!

🎉 Day 2 of the Louisiana Arson and Fire Prevention Association Ladies Program was an absolute blast! 🎉

We kicked off the morning getting creative as we decorated our very own swamp-themed cakes with Sweet Generations, and the results were as fun as they were delicious! 🎂🐊

After working up an appetite, we enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Historic Grounds before wrapping up the afternoon with some exciting rounds of bingo to win fantastic prizes. 🎁✨

The fun isn’t over yet! We have one more day ahead, featuring a fire-themed craft that is sure to spark some creativity. 🔥🎨 Stay tuned to see all of the beautiful masterpieces our talented ladies create!

🐊 Day 1 of the Louisiana Arson & Fire Prevention Conference Ladies Program was a huge success! 👑

We kicked off the day with an unforgettable swamp tour, taking in the beauty and wildlife of Louisiana with the help of Ultimate Swamp Adventures. From there, we enjoyed a delicious lunch at Segnette Landing before wrapping up the afternoon with a fun and creative accessory-making workshop at Throw Dat.

A special thank you to Jason for sharing all of his tips and tricks as attendees designed beautiful custom sunglasses and hair clips to take home. 😎✨

We also ended the day with exciting door prizes generously donated by Uptown Crowns and Accessories. Thank you for helping make the day even more special!

From scenic views and great food to creativity, laughter, and new friendships, Day 1 was filled with fun from start to finish. We can’t wait to see what Day 2 has in store! 🎉❤️

🔥 Day 1 of the Louisiana Arson & Fire Prevention Conference is in the books! 🔥

What an incredible start to this year’s conference! Attendees spent the day gaining valuable knowledge from CRR Director Kory Leo, who led an engaging session on Community Risk Reduction, and NFPA Regional Director Orlando Hernandez, who provided important updates on new NFPA standards.

From insightful discussions to practical takeaways, today’s classes delivered information that will help strengthen fire prevention and public safety efforts across Louisiana and beyond.

The energy is high, the networking is strong, and we’re just getting started! We can’t wait to kick off Day 2 with tomorrow morning’s Opening Ceremony and another full day of learning, collaboration, and professional development.
