Did you see it?!

Our first independent sculpture, "Asher's Flutterby", was installed this afternoon at Riverside Park, near Werner Allen Road. This kinetic sculpture flutters its wings as you swing 🤯

A huge thank you to everyone involved:
- Asher Weatherford from Texas for designing and building the swing
- Ginger Sowle from the New London Parks and Recreation, Wisconsin for notifying us about the swing
- Kelly & Season Polsin from the Wolf River Art League for traveling to Texas to pickup the swing
- Travis & Heather Kloehn from Thrivent Financial of New London for the use of their trailer to pick it up
- Casey Early-Krueger from the Wolf River Art League for designing and building the bench
- Jason from Weld-All New London for storage and flatbed transportation
- Kevin from Wisconsin Paint and Powder Coat for powdercoating the swing
- The crew from the City of New London for pouring the concrete pad
- Nick from Hilker Warehousing for forklift assistance in offloading the swing onto the pad
- There are more of you...thank you too if we missed you!

Come to New London's Annual Fall Festival on Saturday, September 12th and check it out 😁

🦋 This sculpture trail will continue to grow. Thank you for your support! Donations are always appreciated. 🦋

{If you missed the original story, check out our pinned posts!}

The concrete pad for the "Ashers Flutterby" sculpture has been poured and our dedicated volunteers are working hard to put it in place SOON!

We're so excited for this first sculpture to be installed along the river in New London, WI.

Thank you to the Wolf River Art League volunteers, the City of New London and the New London Parks and Recreation, Wisconsin for their help in bringing this trail to life. It takes all of us. Many hours planning and preparing are what brings good things like this to fruition!

And we're especially thankful for all of you! Our Facebook supporters! You cheer us on. You donate. You keep us moving forward to the next artsy thing 💕

🍎 Little hands. Big imaginations. Lasting memories.

There is something special about setting aside one Saturday each month to create together.

My Paint Pals workshops are designed especially for young artists (ages 4+) with simple, confidence-building acrylic paintings that every child can be proud of. Each month I introduce a brand-new seasonal character to paint—from playful sea creatures and friendly pups to cozy gnomes, whimsical Halloween friends, snowy adventures, and woodland favorites.
Whether it's a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, or family friend, Paint Pals is an invitation to slow down, create together, and encourage a lifelong love of art.

✨ Come for one...

❤️ They just might ask to come back every month.

I can't wait to welcome your little artist into my studio.

🎨 A new Paint Pals project every month.

👇 I'll share the link to all of my upcoming Paint Pals workshops in the comments. I'd love to paint with your little artist this year!

It's a great day for welding! Our newest volunteer, Charlie Dusick, has come to our rescue and fish are being added to the community sculpture!! Casey, Phyllis and Lori provide group support with immense thanks to this young welder. We'll be out here all afternoon if you want to honk your support as you drive across the Shawano Street bridge! Thank you for your patience as this project is supported with 100% volunteer hours. Shout out to Josh Kent who volunteered for tomorrow. We may be done today!

Each year proceeds from our winter art show are used for student scholarships and summer art camp. This year we sponsored seven middle school students who attended Ashley Ellis 4-day art camp right here in New London. Students achieved eight projects and commented that they wished it was a 2-week camp! Thank you parents, for supporting your child's interest in the arts! Thank you Ashley, for setting up great challenges that kept the students engaged and creating all week.

Hello Art League supporters! We continue to work on the community fish sculpture and have many of your fish ready to be installed. We are having great difficulty finding a welder or two who can carve out some time to accomplish this. Our own league welder is on mandatory overtime and has some health issues, so we are seeking the public's help. Please share with people who may be able to help:

ATTENTION WELDERS!!
Wolf River Art League is in need of a few welders to volunteer 4 hours or more to tig weld fish onto our existing sculpture at Riverside Park in New London next Friday or Saturday, June 26 or 27. All equipment is ready to go, donated by Weld-All of New London. Anyone willing to help out on this community arts project, please text or call Lori at 920-419-8602.

Thank you Pam Kloehn for alerting us about some graffiti that appeared on our St. Patrick's Grand Parade mural. We made a trip over there and now you'd never know it was there! We also discovered that we need to work on patching the flag at Taft Park as well. Look for our work crew there once the weather clears.

The Wolf River Art League, in partnership with Mosquito Hill Nature Center, invites you to attend an artist's reception featuring Bill Aubrey on Sunday, June 7 from 3-5pm. The reception takes place in the MHNC Library, and is your opportunity to meet Bill and view his incredible artwork while enjoying light refreshments.
Can't make the reception on Sunday? No problem! Bill's work will remain on display until the end of August. At that time, another artist from the Wolf River Art League will display their work.
