Exhibition Date: June 12 - 30, 2024
Opening Reception: Wednesday, June 12, 5-8PM
RSVP: [email protected], 646-286 4575

Ronald Weintraub, a seasoned artist with over three decades of experience, exemplifies an artistic journey characterized by profound fluidity and technical mastery. Weintraub has reached new heights in his recent works. His neo-pointillistic abstract style is a testament to his creativity and hard work. In Weintraub’s paintings, we see evidence of this transformative process—a journey of liberation from the constraints of preconceived notions and artistic conventions. He courageously confronts uncertainty, embracing the unknown creation, a fearless pursuit of artistic freedom, a testament to his unwavering commitment to his artwork.

Upcoming exhibition “Urban Wave -New York”
Exhibition dates: June 4-11, 2024
Reception: June 4th 6-8Pm
I used dried petals, tree barks, seeds, and various other plant materials to create
collages. I collect plants in nature and translate them into paintings. Dried petals and seeds represent my heart and record my life for me. I explore and record the deep meditation and the uplifting song of life that I have acquired while breathing with nature.
The memory of a white front yard under the moonlight from childhood still gives me
warmth. The tremble of life that I cannot experience under artificial lighting is an
endless source of creation for me. The gesture to remember the warmth and value
of nature from the flow of time is the start and reason for my work. I want to swim through nature and sing about freedom, peace, and love. The stitches of cosmos seeds record the song of life from the order of nature and the infinite dreams of mankind in nature on the orbit of time.
I hope that my paintings brighten the ambience like the sunlight and give the gift of warm remedy for consolation like the moonlight.

Upcoming exhibition “Urban Wave -New York”
Exhibition dates: June 4-11, 2024
Reception: June 4th 6-8Pm

I capture my childhood memories of the fancy mother-of-pearl cabinets decorating the walls of the master bedroom... Like strings, it was embroidered layer by layer of “Flower and Butterfly” and “Ten Symbols of Longevity,” And I was fascinated by that brilliant light.
In order to expand the scope of contemporary art beyond the category of crafts with the traditional lacquer material used as a decorative technique, I tried flattening the lacquer. The abalone shell, which is mainly used in the mother-of-pearl, has a wide variety of colors and glistening brilliance depending on the angle of view and light.
All these sparkles become a single surface when a single strand of light touches it and that surface expands and sparkles. Just like there is this beautiful light in a dark sea, I hope that all the happy and heartbreaking memories of our lives shine beautifully.
Just as everyone in our lives have the happiest moments of life, I hope that the beautiful light of those days will come to mind...

A long-awaited landscape of time.
This landscape is a momentary capture for us, but it has it’s own history.
The texture of the thread and the color of the lacquer are released in one space
with the artist’s own sense.
Thread can be seen as a connection between time, Through the elegant and deep colors of lacquer, it expresses the sensibility of a plain ink-and- wash painting. By Hwa Jin Lee

I feel that the blurry memories of my youth, painted with a brush, were not conscious of the now when my mid-50s were passing. It’s been 3 years since I’ve come to Jeju Island and since I’ve put down the hardships of my livelihood little by little and restarted to paint art. The place where I first settled in Jeju-do was called Nansan-ri Village at the eastern end, so I spent two years working on Jeju Island’s scenery in a small, old Korean traditional house in an organic tangerine farm. I went around the corner of the village to see the nature of Jeju Island, and sketched to clear my disorganized thoughts. In the summer of 2021, when the remote village of Nansan was quieter due to COVID-19, I exhibited the Jeju scenery at a small restaurant cafe which was in front of the Kim Young-Gab - My Left Hand Gallery (Sandali), and I displayed the ink paintings of Jeju’s mysterious scenery of small hills and volcanoes. These paintings came to me as a calm story of life. A year later, I returned to my home-town, Busan, for my mothers funeral. I was in grief for a year. And I came back to Jeju Island, built a new studio in Cheonji-dong, Seogwipo in Jeju, and I am currently painting in it. My work is in an oriental painting style drawn with ink on Hanji (4 pieces of Korean paper) - Mi-pyo-baek-ji, and there is no form expressing an object. I only taking a scenic spot and paint what is in my sight to encapsulate the art I see completely. I focus on delivering the air, wind, and color flow of trees, grass, and stones in my sight through my brush.

On May 18, Asher Min’s show will be a part of the Madison Avenue Spring Gallery Walk and there will be two Gallery Talks at 2pm & 4pm. We hope to see you there!

“Min’s photographs catch us in the dark, which is how he wants them to be. As expressed in “Waterfall of My Dreams”, there are three elements that constitute the subject matter in this work. They include “painting, performance, and photography.” Together, the viewer is invited to concentrate on this work as if the evening waterfalls were actually going to descend, which finally they will, prior to being caught in abstract shapes between the various limits of light that surround their depth and darkness.”
