John skelley. Is running for county commish against lengenfelder. The commish that closed our center. He Will be at the liberty cafe tomorrow around noon. He would like to hear from everyone about the issues of the county commish. Would like to talk to the seniors about the cutting of the center. Or if you have anything to address with him. We hope everyone is digging out ok from all the snow. It been a hard winter for snow. Piles upon piles. This brings us to state what is going on.
The parking lot that we use, along with the library and marlene's pizza seems to have caused some issue. Let us state. This lot is not ours. It has a private agreement. This agreement has provided parking by keeping the snow cleared. It is open for parking for all of us. But due to the snow pile on this property and the complaints from Marlene's pizza. ( The snow pile is to high at upper end. Interfering with the vision of cars pulling into alley. Plus the snow on either side of the alley ). This is all private parking and none is on Borough Property. We are or may have to loose parking. It is very disturbing that the alley is full of snow on both sides. Where do you push it? Our snow from side of building and in front has been pushed behind the old bank. This is at a great expense to keep the front and sides clear. We apologize in advance what this may cost all of us. If the lot is not plowed, even the Library may loose out. We have talked to Janet at the Library, If the snow pile has to be moved, it will have to be put in the upper exit and if it still gets plowed, ONLY the lower end off of Roberts Street will be open. Cars will have to go in and out the same exit.

One of the most treasured gifts we have in our life is family and friends. With this time of year we all get to cherish these gifts. So all of our volunteers here at the Historical Society get this gift we will be closing the café on December 21st and reopening on January 2nd.

This morning Nanty Glo Police responded to the liberty cafe in response to a public disturbance. The lady appeared to be under the influence. The video cameras in the cafe recorded the incident and copies turned over to police. The individual is in cambria county prision. We want the thank Ofc. Mike for his prompt response.

Historical Society Board of Directors have set the holiday schedule.
The Café will be open late, (Till 9:00) Pm for trick or treat night Oct 25th.
Thanksgiving = closed Thursday Nov. 27th
We will do our annual shut down from December 23rd and reopen January 2nd.
As you may know, all our staff is volunteers and we would like for all to have the time for their family and friends.
