Vendors & sponsors- we are working on alternative smaller events that will happen when all of this is over to give you opportunities to sell and be featured in our community.
We are all so very sad and frustrated by everything that's happening just like all of you, but we need to be responsible and make the best decisions for each of you in our community.
Stay well and please stay home as much as possible during this time.
While you are spending a lot more time at home, can you help out your county -- and yourself -- and please fill out your census form?!
Our response rate as of 3/24/20 is only at 15.4%.
Over 55 federal programs use census data to fund services that directly impact our community such as school lunches, Medicaid, rural assistance, food banks, SNAP, WIC and housing assistance.
For everyone who is not counted we will lose $2,300 per person per year for the next 10 years. This will have a dramatic impact on the funding for these programs.
Complete your census here - https://my2020census.gov/login It will take less than 10 minutes!

It is with a heavy heart that we have to reschedule the Oglethorpe Block Party due to the widespread closures and prevention measures around COVID-19.
The good news is that we ARE rescheduling the event.
It will take place on FRIDAY, April 17th from 5–8pm at the city park. We will have food and craft vendors so you can come out and buy dinner and enjoy some fabulous tunes in the Oglethorpe City Park in Downtown Oglethorpe, GA.
** PLEASE help us spread the word to the community and we hope that you'll come out and support this event and have fun with us all! **
Please don't forget about our local restaurants and retailers. Especially in smaller rural communities like ours, the local businesses often operate with a smaller profit margin and need our support now as much as they ever have.
Let us try to support them in any way we can during this time.
Congratulations to the City of Montezuma on the completion of the first phase of the airport runway extension. We had a nice event celebrating this major accomplishment for the city that will also impact the entire county!
The next phases will include adding hangars and classrooms out at the airport in addition to other plans! This is a huge step toward attracting more industry and businesses that require a larger runway.
