The Phishsonian Institute We produce museum exhibits. We are archival consultants. We host a radio show on JEMP Radio. We are public historians. We want to build a Phish museum.

I used to think I'd review every Phish show. Then I figured I'd do something worthwhile. Eventually, we'd like to be a brick and mortar museum. For now though, we'll just keep researching Phish's impact on popular culture digitally.

This weekend marks the 30th anniversary of the Clifford Ball, Phish’s 1st of 11 (and counting) festivals. This festival marked the first attempt to bring European festival infrastructure and style to America and would consciously and unconsciously influence Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, Coachella, and more.

In 2024, at the 2nd Phish Studies academic conference Oregon State University in Corvallis, We presented “Our Intent Is All For Your Delight,” a sweeping retrospective exhibit of Phish and their influence on American music festivals in the 21st century.

Presented here is our Clifford Ball display from that exhibit.

🤞🤞“One outside executive told The Times that the team behind Phish and Dave Matthews Band, two of Wasserman’s lucrative touring acts, could potentially be the next big departure.”

Casey Wasserman faces calls from staff and artists to step down following his appearance in the Epstein files. He has not commented on the chaos within his company, but industry insiders think a music spin-off is likely.
