Students fight back against a book ban that has a Pennsylvania community divided

The curriculum makes the difference. Many so-called "white" people know the power of knowledge and information, whether true or not. Our existence will not be denied. That is why ISA teaches the existence, contribution and struggle of African heritage peoples and other non-white communities and peoples. To pretend we are not here, except in subservient ways is a great injustice.

Students in a southern Pennsylvania school district are battling the latest example of panic spreading over how history and race are taught in schools across the US.

Groundbreaking Malaria Vaccine to See Use in Ghana, Kenya, Malawi

Malaria vaccine! "The first malaria vaccine shown to reduce malaria and life-threatening severe malaria in young children. Approximately 2.1 million doses of the vaccine have been provided and more than 750,000 children have received their first vaccine dose through the pilot programme where malaria risks occur year-round, said Kesete Admasu, a former minister of health for Ethiopia.

"We have seen in Covid-19 what the global health community can accomplish when it comes together to fight a killer disease. It would be a welcome turn of events to see Africa emerge from the pandemic with a new tool to take on the old foe of malaria with renewed vigour to get progress in malaria control back on track," Admasu added."

Scientists from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and their colleagues at the Institut de Recherche en Sciences de la Santé in Burkina Faso and the University of Bamako in Mali have published results from a phase 3 trial that involved the world's first and only malaria vaccine. What an awesome day hanging with these brilliant Imhotep Science Academy students and the University of MN Engineers without Borders.

They are revamping and upgrading the community Peace Garden in Saint Paul. Built a green house, laying pavers to prevent or lessen the water run off into storm drains, install rain water containers, will install solar panels on the roof of shed in August, built a wheel chair accessible raised bed. This year long project is manifesting beautifully!

Appreciate this wonderful partnership!!!!! Thank you for showing our students their capacity is limitless and their impact on community is massive!!
