Did you know the Black-Tailed Jackrabbit, commonly sighted throughout the Western United States, was originally called the Jackass Rabbit? 🫏🐇

This is because their sizable ears resemble the ears of a donkey. Being desert animals, both jackrabbits and donkeys stay cool by releasing heat through blood vessels in their large ears.

These donkeys were bred and shipped from Hanover, IL, and Laredo, TX, respectively. Care instructions were kept in a coffee can tied around the donkey's neck.

Over the years, donkeys have been used to advertise many different products and services. One of the most common products was to***co. The John Weisert To***co Company, the maker of Orphan Boy Smoking To***co, operated for over 100 years. It was also the last to***co company in Missouri, closing its doors in the 1980s.
