Thank you for all that attended the Pancake Breakfast on Downsville Day. We had two young customers that were going for the pancake eating record. Congrats to the young man, Jacob on eating 14 pancakes for the new all time record. Be sure to come back for the spring Pancake Breakfast to break the record.

Thank you to Jim Daines and his daughters for the wonderful photography display.

We had a lot of people take a walk through the museum during Downsville Day, thanks for stopping it and your support. Be sure to come back again next summer.

Check out the extension to the shed. First we had to move the Louisville Post Office to it's new home and just recently, the shed was extended. Next, complete the concrete work. Next summer we plan to have the shed open for visitors to view more displays and show off a working display of a lumber mill.
Here are some milestones of this summer's work to complete this project.

This is the timeline…

May 21st the new foundation was poured

July 7th the floor was sagging so badly that the counter with the mail boxes were falling and pinched. Matt removed the counter and mail boxes. Mark Weber is restoring the boxes. The counter is safe in the shed while moving the building.

July 18th – because the floor was so rotten, the building was supported by a micro-lam and 2 steel beams under the building to support it while moving

July 19th – Matt tried to moving the building. Larry Wayne at Wayne Pallets generously offered his skid steer, but because of all the rain, it just spun out in the wet sand. Matt tried his tractor, but it didn’t have what was needed.

July 29th – Chad Nyhus brought his big Loader and was able to get the Post Office Moved.

We still need to build a new floor before the Post Office can settle in it’s new home.

Thank you Matt & Kevin for the concrete work

Thank you Larry Wayne for letting us use your equipment

Thank you Chad Nyhus for working with Matt and getting the job done!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and offered to help and wished us well.

Thank you Matt for doing everything you could think of to keep the building safe while on its short journey
