Peace April into May has been jammed packed with fun meaningful experiences, art making, laughs and creativity! I am currently learning wheel throwing! You know me I am always teaching some fun arts engagements classes for all ages along with intergenerational ones too. So far in my Kindergarten through 2nd grade class we’ve talked about what it means to have a community and gained inspiration from the artist My students just loved seeing some of his work from his childhood. The family crystal wire wrap workshop is always a hit. This week I am getting close to wrapping up my digital painting and illustration class for adults and so far the intro to animation has been a class fave experience. Honestly it has been a busy month, I am so grateful I get to do what I love.

Join me the last Saturday and Sunday of this month can’t wait for you to show you some new things I’ve have been working on. In the meantime my monthly newsletter with all the things and more deets on the open studios will be dropping soon.

I am doing a thing and it has been so much fun! The past few weeks I have been learning wheel throwing.

Week 1: I made an absolute mess flung clay everywhere, didn’t make a single thing.

Week 2: I made the foundation of pretty good well formed shaped bowl. Check out my progress! I call it the ice cream bowl! It can probably fit 3 scoops.

Week 3: I trimmed and under glazed the bowl with purple, blue and black drops. I am really proud of the detail I got in the trimming stage. I forgot to take a pic of the under glaze process.

This class has been just the right amount of respite I needed and I’ve made some great new acquaintances. I am looking forward to apply a final glaze layer. I’m hoping I can dedicate time to do an intermediate one soon. I am going to make an emotional support mug. 🫶🏾💕

Peace and love ✨

I’m doing a thing this weekend and I hope you’ll join me 💛

This Saturday, I’ll be sharing poetry, conversation, and artwork as part of the Spring Forward Art Revival in Brockton. Some of y’all know me through visual art, teaching, workshops, or community events, but poetry has always been a part of my creative spirit too.

And listen 😂 in the middle of making art, teaching, running a business, and taking care of home, I’m gonna be real… I do not always have the time to memorize my poems. Nikki Giovanni read from her journals and books, and baby, I do too 📖✨ Because at the end of the day, it’s the words and the feeling behind them that move people.

So here’s your invitation to come experience this side of me 🎤
Expect poetry, music, artist talks, community, and beautiful art all in one space. I’ll also have artwork on display in the exhibition alongside two other incredible artists through the fall.

Peace and Love just popping in for a midweek art dump! All smiles because last week I had so much fun teaching a teen hybrid art class. We explored digital illustration, along with traditional painting and drawing techniques. Here are a few work samples acrylic textured paintings using various mediums to build visible layers and soft pastels. They all came out beautifully, uber proud of my student’s perseverance and attention to detail.
