REMEMBER -- Memorial Day is an American Holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, Honoring the men and women who died while serving in the US Military. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971.

Fardale in honor of this day is paying tribute to those who served in all conflicts. Please honor your ancestors that served by posting their names and the Wars they served on our Bulletin Board by the Library or here on Facebook.

Here is a sample: Paul Nielsen's Grandfather Harry Cyrenus Fowler who served as a Medical Medic in the Navy during World War I.

Tip of the Day! A great way to find your ancestors is through immigration records. They contain Ship Passenger Arrival Records that help provide names that may have been confused in translation. A simple search "How to use immigration records for genealogy" will provide numerous sites that are useful for doing research.
