Rae's reception last night was rewarding in the many good conversations that were had!
we trans people know all too well how it feels to be targeted by hate. We have had too much experience, watching politicians point fingers at us while avoiding the work of governing they have been hired to do.
It is so easy to see the ways they are trying to target underrepresented and exploited communities in order to cover the harm they’re causing and inaction they perpetuate.
The folks in immigrant communities (many of whom are also q***r and trans) are familiar with this tactic too.
We must continue to stand together in the face of hate. Harm to one community is harm to all.
Visible allyship is a lifesaver. Make your allyship with immigrant communities near you known by donating to the teams who serve them. Volunteer, join community care projects, and speak up against hate. It’s more important than ever.
