Nestled in the scenic Lost River Valley of West Virginia's Potomac Highlands, the Lost River Artists Marketplace provides a marketing center for regional artists and craftspeople. The Lost River Educational Foundation features the largest display of Lost River Valley artifacts and history found in the Highlands.

Well, look at this ! Hardy County Barn Quilt Trail and students!

West Virginia Studies students learned about the cultural significance of barn quilts to immigrants and as possible secret messages during the Underground Railroad. They took a virtual tour of the Hardy County Barn Quilt Trail. Then, they each created a barn quilt on graph paper. One student even created a fabric quilt square.

The Annual Bonnet Party was held in Lost River on Saturday, April 19. Each Easter weekend, members of the community sharpen their artistic skills to parade their creations and compete for a chance to be declared Best Bonnet. This year was not a disappointment in the creativity department.

On Saturday, April 12, the Lost River Educational Foundation held its spring new members jury. At that meeting, two new artists were recommended and are now displaying their art at the Artists Market Place. A third artist applied for membership and currently is under review.

Our Story

Nestled in the scenic Lost River Valley of West Virginia's Potomac Highlands, the Lost River Artisans Cooperative provides a marketing center for regional artists and craftspeople. The Lost River Educational Foundation features the largest display of Lost River Valley artifacts and history found in the Highlands. A weaver works on the loom each weekend. Handicap Accessible. We are open Fri. Sat. and Sun 11-5. Mid April to mid December.
