History Students' Association HSA promotes history related topics and discussions amongst CSULB students and faculty.

Calling all [email protected], Latin Americanist, and interested history students! If you're needing to fill in some extra units, please check out this new course:

Historian Dr. Luis Arroyo of [email protected]/[email protected] Studies is compiling a new course for the fall entitled CHLS 230: "Chicano Community Organization". The course will detail the history of Chicano/a social movements such as the United Farm Workers all the way to current issues such as the DREAM Act. It will also allow students to get involved in community organizing and understand the process of electoral politics/activism. The course will be M/W from 2:00-3:15.

Dr. Arroyo would like to brainstorm with students on the course BEFORE the course starts to see what topics interest students the most so that he could develop the syllabus around their interests. So PLEASE take the opportunity to engage yourself in this great course and email Dr. Arroyo at [email protected].

CSULB Bracero Oral Histories will be used for the upcoming exhibition "Bittersweet Harvest The Bracero Program 1942-1964" at the Museum of Art and History, Ontario which opens this week August 25th.
