Because of the spread of the Covid virus, we have temporarily closed the Firehouse Hostel & Museum. HI Firehouse Hostel & Museum is the first international hostel in central Arkansas. It is located in historic Little Rock Fire Station #2 on Commerce Street in MacArthur Park. The hostel serves as a hub for international and domestic travelers while the museum is dedicated to firef

ighter memorabilia for locals and travelers alike. This 36-bed hostel has separate Women and Mens Dorms, a Family Co-Ed/Wheelchair accessible room, and a private ensuite Captain's Room. The shared spaces include a kitchen, dining room, laundry facilities, and lobby wth a guest computer and free wifi.

Thank you Johnny for the tour of the ! We had a lot of fun! Swing by to see the incredible collection of firehouse memorabilia, try on some hats (they’re heavy!) and meet someone from abroad at this international hostel. If you ask nicely, they might even let you rent or borrow a bike to pedal around MacArthur Park :)

Our stretch of Arctic air and winter weather is almost over. Our last winter storm of this frigid stretch won’t bring any snow to Arkansas, it will bring ice.

Shoveling snow is often a cold, wet and strenuous activity. It also can be deadly. Take it easy when winter precipitation is referred to as β€œheart-attack” snow. - Videos from The Weather Channel | weather.com

City crews are still out treating primary snow routes, leaving many residential roads covered in snow.

01/15/2024

Snow cover (or ice patches) exist on pretty much every road this morning.

This is the current IDrive Arkansas map.

Treating the roads is really not working because it is so cold outside.

Main roads, especially highways and interstates will clear up quicker than side roads and rural routes.

Be safe, we will not get above freezing today or tomorrow.
