UNEARTHED Pottery and Other Artistry

UNEARTHED Pottery and Other Artistry We have all been unearthed and have the power to create from what we have been given. The purpose of this site is to display the artistry God has enabled me to to 'create'.

About the artist: As a native of Northern Virginia, Bethany (Good) Cropsey grew up with a love of art and color. Bethany’s passion for creativity and design led her to Eastern Mennonite University, where she earned a BA in Visual Arts with a minor in Psychology. Following her graduation, Bethany spent a year on St John in the US Virgin Islands as a potter. Her experience there included teaching classes to locals and guests of the eco-tourist resort of Maho Bay Campground. Bethany’s sculpture entitled “From One” received the People’s Choice Award from the Mango Tango gallery on St Thomas, and her functional and sculptural works were sold on several islands including St John, St Thomas (USVI), and Tortola (BVI). After returning to the United States, Bethany settled in Reston, Virginia, and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Interior Design from Marymount University. In her free time, Bethany enjoys all sorts of artistic endeavors, including making jewelry, interior decorating, collaging, painting, sewing, and photography. ---take a look at the Featured Gallery, which is my most recent work. Here is one of my newest necklaces, from my "Beach Elegance" collection:

Unearthed Pottery :: Welcome

I have an art gallery website with many new pictures as well!!! The website was created and is hosted thanks to my brother Ian, and I have taken time to re-organize it a bit.

There is a lot more information there that is not included on the "Unearthed Pottery and Other Artistry" page. Basically this page is to be a supplement to my Unearthed website. You will find the newest work in the "Featured Gallery". Alas, I have not done any pottery lately, but, I have been working on the "Other Artistry" portion quite diligently, so you will find about 30 new pieces of jewelry featured predominantly in the "Featured Gallery" (imagine that?;)). You will also find some of my Interior Design work through the years tucked in there too: "before" & "after"s from my time at La-Z-Boy and some projects from my current education at Marymount University in Interior Design so far. There are a few new items in the "Full Gallery" as well.

'The Lord has done great things for them. The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.' -Psalms 126:2b-3 NIV

It's been a long time coming!!!! After almost 3 years, updated pictures are finally here :) I have updated images and info about the new designs and artwork I have conjured up in the past couple of years. There are a few new categories: Interior Design, Furniture, & Paintings. The bulk of the new work exists in the Jewelry category though, so have a look!!
