It is accomplished by various techniques and tools. This technology was used in prehistoric times to make spear points, dart points, arrow heads, knives, scrapers, blades, and many other tools. People who make those tools today are called Flint Knappers. Modern pieces make unique gifts and are collected as artwork and for various other reasons, throughout the world.
