In response to popular demand, the Lake Bluff History Museum is offering four encore showings of the documentary film, A Childhood Lost & Found: A Journey Back to the Lake Bluff Children’s Home. The admission fee is $10 adults and $5 children, payable at the door.
• Thursday October 27 1 pm Grace United Methodist Church 244 E. Center Avenue, Lake Bluff
• Friday November 11 7 pm Lake Bluff Middle School Gymnasium 31 E. Sheridan Place, Lake Bluff
• Thursday November 17 1 pm LF/LB Senior Center, Dickinson Hall 100 E. Old Mill Rd., Lake Forest
• Saturday November 26 7:30 pm Gorton Community Center 400 E. Illinois Rd., Lake Forest

Produced by Lake Bluff resident Kraig Moreland, the film tells an emotional and heartfelt story of an orphanage, the children who lived there and the people who cared for them. The film uses archival photographs dating from 1894, when the home was founded, and tells the story through interviews with individuals who grew up in the home and historic reenactments using local actors.

It's fitting that after investing two years, hundreds of miles and at least $7,000 of his own money, Kraig Moreland should debut his documentary , "A Childhood Lost and Found: A Journey Back to the Lake Bluff Children's Home," at Lake Forest High School's Raymond Moore Auditorium on Saturday.

Museum Work Continues
The museum is taking advantage of the library renovation to update its look and will remain closed a bit longer than originally planned while we rearrange the space and update displays. During the summer, we plan to host several temporary exhibits, most likely including ones on East School, the Fourth of July and Lake Bluff Artists. We'll let you know details when we get closer to reopening.
