Mahalo Wilmont Kamaunu Kahaialii for blessing our new office and the Lahaina Restoration Foundation staff as we start this new chapter!

The blessing offered an opportunity to gather in gratitude, ask for guidance and protection, and reflect on the journey that has brought us to this moment.

As we prepare to return to Lahaina after nearly three years, we are thankful for everyone who has supported us along the way and look forward to continuing our work to be stewards and storytellers of Lahaina’s Historic & Cultural Heritage

Artifact Friday: Horse Saddle and 1st Place Trophy donated by the Kinores Family

This horse saddle and trophy belonged to the late Herbert Kinores, whose legacy is deeply rooted in Lahaina's ranching history. Herbert dedicated 46 years to AMFAC/Pioneer Mill Company, beginning as a cattle ranch hand and rising to become Manager of Pioneer Mill Ranch. 🏇🏼

He also earned 1st Place in the 3/8-mile Cowboy Horse Race at the 38th Maui Fair in 1960! 🏆

His years of hard work, leadership, and dedication are reflected in these cherished artifacts.
