There comes a time when everyone has to own up to their mistakes, and Fort Stanwix National Monument is no exception to that. We’d like to say here that, despite unanimous park staff support, we should NOT have utilized cats to help with pest management in the museum collection storage area. Regrettably, we have not seen a decrease in the insect populations, but have noticed a measurable increase in cat hair and laziness. We are sorry. Please, if you employ cats, be sure to do a full background check. Happy April Fools!
