Kalida St. Michael's Catholic Church
Hi everyone. I've been getting phone calls regarding the bishop's statement on Mass attendance. Bishop Thomas has said that we will keep church doors open for worship, but is very concerned about the corona virus outbreak. With the epidemic in mind Bishop Thomas has said that there is no Sunday obligation for the next three weeks. Sunday attendance is optional. Here at St. Michael's and St. John's we will be having services as usual and will be broadcasting as usual on cable TV channel 70. And something new, we will also be on facebook live for those who do not get channel 70. We take this epidemic very seriously along with the bishop. Please keep each other safe. Be aware especially of the elderly, young children and those who have compromised health. Don't panic. Spend more time at home. Spend more time with family. Spend more time with the Lord. Please pray for a quick end to this epidemic.
We have also had quite a few calls about the fish fry. People have called about keeping people safe and still participating and supporting the K of C. A good option would be to take the carry out option. There is smaller contact with people and you get to still enjoy the fabulous fish and fixings prepared by the K of C. Please be patient and pray for all groups affected by this virus. The K of C have contacted the people at the top to make sure they are doing things correctly. Help them keep everyone safe and satisfied. Sorry to say that this will be the final fish fry of the Lenten Season. The K of C does such a fantastic job and the fish fry is famous in the area as one of the best.
If anyone has any questions, don't be afraid to give me a call. Fr. Mark
