Closing Sunday, May 5
The Expressionist Figure

Abstract Expressionism, developed in the 1940s, was the first specifically American movement to achieve international influence and put New York City at the center of the western art world. In an almost immediate reaction, a group of painters began reintroducing the figure. This exhibition examines some of the leading artists of the time, including important women painters like Mary Abbott, Perle Fine, Deborah Remington, and Nancy Spero.

Look for Bob Thompson, Richard Diebenkorn, Jacob Lawrence, Hughie Lee-Smith, David Park, Lester Johnson, and Charles Alston.

Thanks to exhibition sponsor Warner Norcross + Judd.

Iit's a KIA FREE weekend...
Help out with our new CAN DRIVE

To add to the fun of our Young Artists Opening Weekend, we are launching a Spring CAN DRIVE for Loaves and Fishes. What we collect will help us supply a can-based artwork on the Rotary stage by Bonus Saves during Arts Fair June 7-8.

**If you bring 3 canned goods, you'll be entered into a drawing for a Gallery Shop gift basket valued at $100!**

Patrick Hershberger, aka Bonus Saves (pictured with Greta Faworski, L&F Resource Development Director, and Arts Fair Coordinator Carianne Zomonski) , is the Midwest's busiest mural artist, and you may remember him painting in action at previous arts fairs.

Help us make this happen for our 2019 Arts Fair in June! Collection bins will be going up around town, but for now, are at the KIA.
