HAPPY 72nd BIRTHDAY , U.S. AIR FORCE!
On Sept 18, 1947, President Harry S. Truman created the US Air Force. The Air Force changed how we fight wars. Its advanced technologies mean the US can win in air, space, and cyberspace. An example of this is the Stealth attack aircraft’s capability to blend in with the background noise in the atmosphere.
So how might one celebrate the Air Force’s 72nd birthday? Of course, thanking an airman for their service is a great way to celebrate. Maybe a driving vacation to Dayton, OH, to see the National Museum of the US Air Force is possible. A day trip to the Kalamazoo Air Zoo offers interactive displays, fascinating aircraft exhibits, and stories of heroic pilots and crews. Perhaps there is time for family movie night, with popcorn, and a bit of learning about the Air Force. Movies like Iron Eagle, The Tuskegee Airmen, and October Sky are good options.
Fly High on your birthday!
Let us know if you participated. We might have a book or two that needs your tender loving care.
