Tonight we would like to give everyone a glimpse into some of the artwork you could be seeing in the art gallery we will have displayed on April 1st!

The image below was one of the group projects that our participants created. Each square was created by a different artist, and they did not know what the final product would look like until everyone was finished.

The piece shown in this post is called: On The Conemaugh

Rita Haldeman Fine Art

Tonight we would like to take the time and introduce the artist that worked with our participants this year!

Rita Haldeman is a directory artist with the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art. She graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a B.A. in Art.

"It has been my pleasure and honor, to work with the participants in the Healing Arts Program. We chose nature as our focus and direction, for this class, I understood that every participant had varied interests and skills, with regard to art materials. However, everyone was very creative, and, as the class progressed, there was a wonderful sense of being open to new things, and trying different techniques."

When asked about the participants Rita said "The participants have served as a great inspiration to me. As they move forward, my hope is that they continue to create this lovely, spirited, and joyful work, to share with the world."
