Founded in 2006 by Vanessa Liberati, Gitana Rosa represents fine contemporary art by leading emerging and established artists and encourages social, political and environmental messages through the arts. Gitana Rosa was the first green gallery in Brooklyn to adopt ecological practices into its business model and to donate a portion of proceeds from select exhibitions to environmental non-profits

In 2014, Gitana Rosa opened a second location in Chelsea which served as its main gallery space for the year whilst the Williamsburg gallery operated as a project space directed by Lauren Wolchik. After 10 years in Brooklyn, Gitana Rosa has now moved to Piermont, NY on the banks of the Hudson. Our new location in Piermont combines gallery space with a curated retail experience to showcase exclusive artist designed editions, multiples,
collections and individual works. Gitana Rosa also collaborates with our artists to create custom designed, eco-conscious products. We incorporate sustainability into our business model as well as give back to our community by providing our space to stimulate dialogue, promote sustainable pathways of living and inspire positive ideas.
